Huntington Beach Laguna Beach in Orange County Santa Monica/Venice/ Malibu/ Zuma beach in LA County. Laguna Beach.. its a cove and not quite so busy Santa Monica.. its where I lived..and its a beautiful beach Venice Beach is a myriad of character on the boardwalk. You can people watch all day. I like Malibu –Huntington Beaches.. as I like surfing Zuma I like because its down the road from Malibu and its not packed with LA people, like Santa Monica beach is. Hermosa Beach.. you can stay there a little more affordable..but anything close to the beach will cost you. The hotels by LAX Int’l Airport are some of the most reasonable motels.. and LAX isnt that far from the ocean. Youre midway between Orange and LA county beaches..closer to LA.
Venes Beach or Laguna Beach is the best!
Does anyone have any recommendations for a Michigan beach vacation? My friend and I are 21 and looking for ideas as far as cheap spas, vegetarian restaurants, nightlife, beaches, and the dunes. We are taking a weekend vacation and mainly want to be lazy and relax. Also, we are on a budget! Thanks. I was looking at Muskegon, Silver Lake, or Grand Haven Pier. Any suggestions? I was hoping the beaches wouldn’t be tooo crowded…. or Saugatuck!
Ludington is also a nice town. It has guest houses along the main drag leading to the water, and they’re not too expensive for a student’s budget. Night life may be a bit limited. Or, how about Muskegan? There may be more action there. Check out the web-sites and choose a town. Or, how about a few days at each place?
All the areas mentioned are nice but most likely the least expensive places are booked for the remainder of the summer. I suggest looking on http://michigan.org under spas, vegetarian,beaches, dunes and see what results come up. I would agree with the Ludington suggestion. There is more than 6 miles of lightly used beach within Ludington State Park. (the park itself should be packed) or, try hiking in Nordhouse Dunes natural shoreline area just north of Ludington. Camping in ether place would be less than 30 per night.

What should I take on a beach vacation? We are going to the beach in about a Month. My son will be almost 8 months old. I was wondering what I should take to the beach (of course I realize sunscreen with an SPF of 50 and a sun hat…) but is there anything else that could be helpful or that he could play with. Thanks!
Baby powder works well to take off the sand off little ones. Get some sand toys, hard plastic ones that wash off easily, little tikes makes a great truck works great in sand, ice pops the push up kind. And also plastic bags, diapers, wipes. Don’t forget a beach blanket, and umbrella. Have fun!
Am I the only one who thinks a beach vacation would be terribly dull and hot? I can’t see myself going to somewhere tropical just to lay on a beach. Maybe for a couple of hours but then I’d be done! This left me wondering what other peoples’ ideal vacays are…

Probably not. No one can do one thing like that for very long….beach vacations are fun, but only when you do other stuff besides just laying there. Like, fishing, crabbing, building sand sculptures, grilling, playing random games, meeting the other people there, etc.

Can you recommend an East Coast Beach vacation destination & hotel with an Ocean view? We are planning our very first trip to sea the Ocean, and there are many beaches along the East Coast to choose from. We would like to know which beaches you found safe & clean, and what hotels you have found that have a great view, (or which ones to stay away from.) We would also like easy access to the beach. I have visited some beach sites, and there is so much info, it is overwhelming and confusing. Please help us narrow our options down, by sharing your story with us. Thank You very much !!
Ocean City Maryland is awesome the beach is super clean there is a great boardwalk and a carnival/small amusement park, all of the hotel are on the beach(just walk across the boardwalk) it is basically an island and I’m guessing most of the hotels are about the same you should call the and ask for a room with an ocean view make sure the hotels address is on boardwalk those are the ones on the beach also check out Assateague island it a very short drive and very cool there is a more “rustic beach” and wild ponies and it just a beautiful place to visit and a day pass is not that expensive

What are some nice places in Maine for a family beach vacation? My family wants to go to a beach location in Maine for vacation. We’re all adults, so we just want a tranquil area with not too many other people around, especially not too many kids. Ideally it should be within walking distance of a town with restaurants, shopping etc. though, or at least within a 15 min drive. We’ll probably want to rent a beach cottage or something for 4-7 nights. Any general suggestions on what towns/areas to look at, or specific suggestions of beaches/cottages to stay at?
